Trojan was founded in 2021 by three engineers who kept getting asked the same question by friends abroad: which VPN can I actually trust? None of the answers held up. So we built one whose word could be checked.
Why Trojan. Troy held its walls for ten years, and Rome later claimed the Trojans as its ancestors. We took the name for both: the wall that held, and the people who rebuilt after it fell. Everything we do is meant to be checked, not believed: open source apps, yearly audits, a transparency report with no redactions.
